People saw Envy Salvatore as beautiful, confident, fierce, and fearless. They saw a woman who never backed down, never allowed anyone to disrespect the people she loved, and carried herself with a quiet confidence that demanded respect. What they didn't see were the battles that built her or the pain hidden beneath her strength.
Envy was born into the Salvatore family, a name built through sacrifice, loyalty, discipline, and unwavering love. Her parents, Sinna and Mila Salvatore, raised their daughters to understand that carrying the Salvatore name was both an honor and a responsibility. They taught them that money could be earned, power could be taken, but integrity, loyalty, and family were things no one should ever compromise.
Mila Salvatore was the foundation of the family. Envy saw how she was elegant, intelligent, and driven. Envy admired how she had a way of leading with both grace and authority, inspiring everyone around her to become the best version of themselves. She taught Envy and Pride that success wasn't something you wished for, it was something you earned. Growing up, Mila often shared stories about the unbreakable bond she had with her own sister. More than anything, she hoped her daughters would build that same eternal connection.
They did.
Although Envy and Pride were complete opposites, they were inseparable. Pride was compassionate, creative, patient, and the kind of person who could light up an entire room with nothing more than her personality. Envy was bold, protective, and fearless, the first to stand between danger and the people she loved. Pride was the calm to Envy's storm, and Envy was the shield that protected Pride's heart. They argued, teased one another endlessly, and occasionally drove each other crazy, but nothing could ever break the bond they shared. Envy had no problem becoming the villain in someone else's story for her sister.
Inspired by their mother, Pride pursued Business Management while Envy studied Business Finance. The twins dreamed of graduating together and one day building an empire worthy of the Salvatore name. When Pride made the difficult decision to leave college, Envy was devastated. It felt like the future they had imagined together was slipping away. Still, she knew Pride wasn't happy, and her sister's happiness would always matter more than any plan they had made. Instead of trying to hold her back, Envy encouraged her to chase her own purpose, promising to stand beside her no matter where life took them.
If Mila taught Envy how to lead, Sinna Salvatore taught her how to survive.
Envy was a true daddy's girl. While others saw Sinna as intimidating, she saw the man who would sacrifice anything to protect his family. He taught her discipline, self-defense, how to handle firearms, and how to remain calm when fear tried to take control. Every lesson carried the same message: strength wasn't about never falling, it was about always getting back up. Whenever training became difficult and Envy wanted to quit, Sinna would look her in the eyes and say, "Even if you can't breathe… keep fighting."
At the time, they were only words. Years later, they would become the reason she survived.
After Pride left college, Envy remained on campus and moved in with her boyfriend, Scar. Trust had never come easily to her. Outside of her family, she rarely allowed anyone close enough to see the softer parts of who she was.
Scar was the exception.
